Nova Project

RL RESIDENCE REMODEL - Salt Lake City, UT

The Nova Project narrative was mused by a nostalgia for the client’s childhood ranch, a devotion to fly fishing and exploring outdoors, mixed with a sultry Steve McQueen vibe. The story is told through colors and textures of Central Utah and a 1970’s ‘masculine’ retro aesthetic — washed landscapes, woven textiles, rustic steel and brushed brass, smoky glass, wild wood patterns (i.e. Burlewood) and natural stone patterns.

The focal areas included lounge area, a dining room that needed more emphasis and grit, minor cosmetic updates to kitchen hardware, and a new vision for the primary bedroom. The goal was to distinguish personality and classic masculinity to social zones, while integrating a playful and functional furnishings to adjacent areas where the client spent time relaxing with his kids.
